Subject: Another snoring post

Earlville, NY
I was diagnosed many years ago, via a sleep study, with moderate sleep apnea. I've seen CPAP threads quite a lot on Agtalk; I seem to be one of the few that just cannot adjust to a CPAP machine. Different masks, settings, etc nothing ever worked. The machine now collects dust on my nightstand.
Has anyone successfully treated their snoring with a mouth-guard? If so what type is it? Was it fitted by a dentist. I know there are a lot of brands types and price levels. I'd like to try it before my wife kills me in my sleep, but there's so many choices. My sleep doctor I've visited over the years mentioned having surgery to scrape away tissue in the back of the throat; everything I've read describes this as very long and painful recovery, and I've had two very major surgeries in past two years, not interested in another! Thanks for any advice.
Andrew
