Subject: Re: Bad Steering Valve on Auto Pilot

Montgomery City, MO
I had a bad valve on a new install last week. This was on an Autopilot for a Hagie DTS8(284XP). Calibration did not go too smooth, but it did hold the line OK. The problem was there was a very loud hydraulic noise when the system was engaged. There were also a couple of hydraulic lines on the sprayer that "surged" when connected to the valve that didn't surge if you took the valve off. Trimble support felt it was a pressure setting in the valve and sent me a new one. It seems to have fixed the problem, however I had not had a chance to put some field time on this due to wet conditions. It did work going down the road with out problems. Moral of the story, not all valves are perfect. Good luck.
