My 85-year-old mother is now on her third computer.

She's not going to really back up anything. When the last one went south she lost her email address book. Email has become one of her main things.

So, with the replacement machine I set her up on web mail (AT&T, in this case) because her address book will be part of the server, not on her machine. So, if this one goes down she won't have lost addresses and past messages.

So far, so good.
