Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND
I own 80% of my land, rent 20%. The landlords are lifetime friends and neighbors, that trust and do not mess with what I do as long as they see results comparable to the rest of the community.
I have no livestock, so have the time to maintain 20-30 year old equipment in excellent condition, so it is reliable. I do not keep a machine if wear parts are hard to find or no longer avalible.
I do buy new or nearly new on occasion when it proves that it can do a job better, faster with less cost or does a job that the old well maintained stuff can not do. I am glad that my newest tractor is a 50 series JD, that about the last that were not loaded up with gee whiz electronics.
