Southeast WI | Not banding. Cover establishment has been great, tends to fall apart late in season as they need sun and don't get enough from what we've seen. Dodge Co watershed group started a project this past year. Took DM measurements in mid summer and then before harvest. Very similar levels of DM. Like under 100 to a few hundred lbs per acre if I remember correctly. So when we have such small growth (if it's there at harvest in late October or November) the corn stover smothers it as we have close to zero gdd's by early November and no recovery time. Will be interesting to see what survives in their project this spring. | |
