Subject: RE: Herbicide being active with early covers

Southeast WI
Here picking corn herbicides is really limited. Best luck going with Verdict at 9-12 oz per acre depending how early we would be planting. If going April 20 or so I'd use the higher rate for enhanced burndown (notill) and extra residual. Plant May 15 you better be on the low end or lower so the herbicide is largely gone by first week of June. Gly is used on a the RR corn to clean the slate before cover planting. Still could run into weed issues as you are putting the last pass on at V3-4 and there's several weeks of open canopy many years.

It's not all roses and so far I don't know anyone that's had Loran's success. For the first time in 4 years of trying we saw some very nice growth in early Sept last year out of the interseeding and then it got buried under the corn residue at harvest so we shall see what we have this spring. Too early to tell yet.
