Ed, thanks for the story. The government will never miss an opportunity to bleed a good idea to death. We've had some wind farm developers in the area; they talk like they want to move NOW, but I think they only want to tie up the land/wind rights. Transmission lines have been the limiting factor HERE, we have some of the "best" wind currents in the nation. I heard late last week that our state government is looking at a bill to tax wind power. I don't have time to research it right now, but I believe the proposed tax was $120,000 - $150,000 per windmill per year. Same old same old story, "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you!" |
