South Eastern VA
Every year I plant a few hidden food plots back in the woods. I let cereal rye get head height and spray it with a little atv sprayer I built. Broadcast black oil sunflower seeds at maybe 10lbs an acre?...hard to tell because these are little 1/2 -3/4 acre plots. I use regular ole birdseed from Home Depot, it's like $5 for fifty pounds or so.

I bet you twenty bucks I get 90% germ out of those things. Just let the rain come and they grow...no tillage, no cultivation, nothing. In September I come back in and broadcast crimson clover and radish with some cereal rye and it starts all over.
