Agreed. How would a guy get an operating loan to put in 10,000 acres without crop insurance.
I agree it takes away risk. But it is not an item where you can get a better deal with more acres or more units like other inputs. That's why I argue it doesn't favor big or small. It favors the guy who wants to use it to reduce risk.
Finally!!! Someone, I agree with! There is no way to show statistically that federal crop insurance helps big farmers. We all have access to the exact same insurance program. Of the one thing in my entire budget I have least control over in relation to my neighbor it is crop insurance. It is set in stone..... |
