Subject: RE: Piece of steel in eye

Sac & Story county IA
I have had that done. I went to an ophthalmologist. He used what I would call a battery operated carrot peeler. Hurt like crazy afterwards. I begged for the drops of cocaine for the hour ride home. I knew he couldn't give that to me, but I sure wanted it.
I have found better choice is go to optometrist, eye glasses person, they can pick object off better that hospital ER.
But do it quick, the rust is a bad enemy. Same day if possible or next day at latest. But if you have rust, they have to get rid of it. Don't sound like there is any good way.

My sight in that eye isn't as good as the other 15 years later. Still qualified to fly airplane and past 60, so not doing bad.

A habit I have found is bad is that if I am welding on something, take off helmet, lay it with opening up, grind and shoot shards into helmet, when I put helmet on shards fall in my eyes. No matter how much eye protection I wear grinding I can have trouble. More careful about that now.
