Subject: RE: The last soil tests we had done here were in the fall of 2015 were Guelph

central ontario
We do not do a basic,it is always for total workup with all micros
We have done yearly soil test the past 3 years for micro and mg monitoring ,which have been very low,so we needed yearly follow through to see if levels are changing ,with the costs of things it is nice to know if you are gaining.
A L seems to come back with such a generic rec that we will maybe never use them again.
In the spring of 2015 we had samples sent to Brookside in the US 4 weeks before planting and did not get results back till too late ,results were less then impressive k levels on three samples were incorrect, single digit an impossibility, cost were like $60 ea and the results came back too late.
In the spring of 2016 we delivered our soil samples to Kinsey USA import nos, needed, results came back a little slow but were very impressed with the recs,Guelph was very close to Kinseys results which had us only needing crop removal apps with micros being near the rec levels. Costs for Guelph were similar to others and would recommend them,Kinsey costs were maybe $60 US,so more then here, but will continue with their soil tests and recs.
Will not go the grid route yet, till more is known on correct handling of the computed nos.are the nos.being interpreted correctly, who knows, sounds good as a sales pitch thou.
