NC Kansas | Really?? sorry for the confusion! Maybe we're doing it wrong but here the best corn is almost always in wheat stubble. Only an anomaly of a year with good moisture in June/July will the bean ground corn out yield the corn in wheat stubble. You can change up the N rate/timing/method/form and unless it's a freaky perfect year the bean ground will lag 10 to 30 bushel less than wheat stubble. Almost without fail... whether we have ample rainfall or not, there will be a 10 day stretch in late June or Early July where it's overly hot and doesn't rain and the corn rolls up like a pineapple and that's what does it.
