Kirkwood Il.
"Back in the day" when family was beginning, We lived in a rented shack with no insulation, (no money)but had a fire place. Bought a heat exchanger and front for fire place and proceeded to heat with wood. Worked 5 1/2 days a wk. at Imp Dealer, then on Sat. afternoon, I would cut and split a pickup load, which would last maybe 2 weeks. Had a Macoluch 10/10 saw that would run about 15 min till it died, split and load wood cut, then saw would start and run another 15 min. This went on for 2 years till I finally threw saw as far as I could, then contemplated killing it with the splitting mall. Gave the saw to a guy who said he could fix it.(never could) Times got better for us, and haven't had or desired to have a fire in fireplace since. We now own rented shack, which is fully insulated with new windows. Oh Yaaa, put plastic on windows every fall too. Actually those were the "good ol days"
