So. IL | Living expenses are high, but our biggest problem is the taxes we pay. My wife and I both work in town. Between her wages and mine, and the property taxes we pay on our house, we are at $35,500 per year. Now that's not including the utility tax on our power bill from Obama, that's almost $400 a year, fuel tax, or sales tax. Wife got a new cheep car last year, that was $1600 tax. This family of 3 is spending well over 40k a year in just taxes.
