Pasco WA. | Machinery cost vs timeliness has to be balanced. What is gained by stretching your equipment usage and producing poorer crops. I raise hay and I try to be able to cut an entire cutting in a week. I have to be able to rake and bale at that speed even when conditions are not ideal. I'll take two used machines at 50% of new price over one new one any day. Assuming that the new machine is comparable.
The lowest equipment cost is not always the most profitable. | |
