Central Nebraska
The Walt Longmire series by Craig Johnson. The Cold Dish is the first. Mystery novels set in Absaroka County, Wyoming. Longmire is the sheriff. It's my favorite series.

The Joe Pickett series by CJ Box are good, too. Pickett is a Wyoming game warden.

I'm reading the Sackett series by Louis L'Amour right now. They're short, easy reads.

Plainsong by Kent Haruf is really good. Set in Eastern CO.

All The Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy. Maybe my favorite book.
