I read for entertainment on plane trips. I liked all of the Michael Creighton books. Also, anything by Brad Thor (Crime & political intrigue) or Clive Cussler (a lot o nautical mysteries). David Baldacci in the King and Maxwell series.

Thor has been my favorite. His seem hard to believe when you read them and then, six months later, something happens nationally or internationally that is right along the lines of his last book. They appear to be prophetic.
