I don't think they will ever (within the next 50-75 years at least) confiscate land here. Not until at least enough generations pass so the memory of what we know as ownership will have faded. Then the people might go for it to nationalize farm land.

I think it is much more likely (if and only if it comes to such extremes, which I hope and don't think it will) that we are just taxed to death on it. The local politico's would already like to do that. It would just go to a national "wealth tax" on assets. We become "serfs" on our own land. With some of the EPA rulings we are already on our way there now I guess. :-(
