CT | I certainly agree it is a safety issue and thought they would react more than they have.
The calls to Racine are useless. The people that answer the phone are just call center employees - the first didn't know what a TS6020 even was, and the second made no response when I asked her if she was familiar with the operation of a clutch. On the first call they told me that the local rep and dealer would solve the problem, and on the second call today they offered me the one year free cable deal.
I'm not sure what my dealer has submitted as far as paperwork, but the area rep actually spent a good part of a day with the tractor trying to figure it out. They kept going between the cable and a bad pressure plate, but after three pressure plates you'd think one at least would be ok. I figured it was the cable all along and that has been proven now by my dealer when the problem went away with the solid rod. The clutch works fine now but does not have the correct stops and transmits quite a noise into the cab. I'm sure they went with a cable for noise control in the first place. I have a perfectly fine open station Ford 7710 - I bought the TS6020 to have a quiet cab and now I don't have that.
I purposely tracked down the area rep at the Empire Farm Days and asked him about their plan as at that point they hadn't tried the solid rod yet. He had no answer and when I asked if I was going to need to contact a lawyer he said I certainly could if I wanted. He really turned me off at that comment.
They did suggest to my dealer that they go to a marine store or such and have a custom cable made to try. However, I do not feel it is up to my dealer to basically guess at what cable is needed not knowing about the actual load on it - the engineers at CNH should be looking for a new cable. Maybe the local rep is too lazy to escalate it to corporate - I don't know. If that cable were to ever break due to it being undersized someone could easily be severely injured.
We've had such good luck with NH equipment over the years and I'm amazed that I'm being treated this way. | |
