To the OP, in my area there are no feedlots, and three different all natural beef brands competing for the high end DC NY soccer mom market. Cattle have to be fed local to qualify. That was an opportunity unique to me, downfall, with limited cattle feeders banks don't have experience to finance. I think as young farmers we need to think outside the box to compete and surround ourselves with experienced mentor, research and ask questions
