Subject: RE: Tips for making Father/Son Farm Partnership work

west central illinois
I started with 140 acres of rented ground and helped my dad and uncle while working another job. I have grown my part of the operation to 1200 acres today. Some is 100% mine some is on thirds some is 50%. Mine and 25% each. I bought used equipment we needed and traded as needed. I own my own planter, combine, tractors and partners on the other stuff like semis. Trailers and sprayer. What I'm getting at is don't wait for dad. Get your feet wet with your own stuff and work together. He isn't going to hand you anything at his age and frankly I don't blame him. I wouldn't quit yet.
