S.C. Wisconsin | Talking to people in my circle and I found a lot of people had the 700 Remington fire when unloading. The one or two percent the company claims is just hogwash. A controlled round feed gun grasps the brass when it is up in the magazine, you never have to chamber the round to eject it. The Remington on the other hand has to slide the round into the chamber and grasp the brass when the bolt is turned down, this along with having to have the safety off and a poorly designed safety is just poor design. Now I blame the accident on carelessness of the operators but there is no excuse for a company designing such a product. It tells me the company puts $$$$ ahead of peoples lives. It happens all time in this country where bean counters make design decisions on just making a fast buck, the GM ignitions are a good example. In most cases the bean counters were aware of the problems but they blinded by the dollar bills. | |
