No one talks about how much soil gets cut out of river beds every time you get a high water event either.
Rivers change course all the time and continually widen/deepen themselves.
Local river that set a new record flood level this June widened itself a whole lot. Its a little river that now has a river bed 200-300' wide.
The dirt that the river removed from the bank is now somewhere in the Gulf. |
