That kind of thinking and investing will lead to the continued erosion of your principal, inflation will eat it away.
Not saying now is the time load up on equities but over time a broadly diversified portfolio is the only thing that will give you the ability to stay ahead of inflation and in this case not need to kick any new money in to keep it open.
