I just looked at a DB 60 foot bar and they put a push button switch behind the wing lift cylinder.  the angle of the cylinder moves "back" when in the plant position.  Only moves maybe 2 inches.  Like a rubber covered dimer switch.

Course no pic.  I will see more of the planter and plan to get a part number for it.
