| JonSCKs - 1/10/2014 19:28 This isn't 2009.. maybe up in Ray J's world.. NOT here... As jocoshar said... it ain't that way in Ray J's world. His trade area came off of average-to-great crops in 2003-2007, and Eddyville still had a righteous September 2008 bid to source early harvest from a somewhat late crop. Then that turned into the boondoggle harvest of 2009. And then that area grew 3 turd crops back to back, and 2013, while far from excellent, was the first crop to plug a hole in the boat to some extent. I'm not knocking on Ray, just saying that the reality hasn't been that way here. And, I drove 400+ miles in Iowa today including some of the most productive counties north of I-80 and didn't see any signs of the excessive corn that sometimes has been up there. Still plenty of scars from last spring's weather disasters, though. |
