Beresford, SD
In high school I always had a job, mechanic at local chevy garage, four buddies and I ran a bean walking crew all summer, milked cows at a small dairy for a neighbor, worked at a large feedlot during college. Got married then worked as a machine adjuster in an envelope factory for two years until FCS of A hired me as a crop Ins. Specialist. (10 yrs.) During this time I always farmed some land and fed a few cattle. FCS ofA was a great "Career" but it did not make me as happy as a Saturday would working on the farm. Some opportunities arose so I could farm fulltime and I would not go back for anything! Those of you that never worked off the farm really are really fortunate. WE ARE BORN WITH IT IN OUR BLOOD!
