yes it did because more acres were devoted to corn to produce for ethanol which was bidding acres away from soybeans.
Hedge a tip , you can't have a civil discussion with corn growers over ethanol---we grow majority of our corn but have been told more than once that "we don't need the livestock guys as we have ethanol mandate".....the bath the hog guys took a few years ago will be repeated in a commodity mentioned here many times..........$10k + land ,rents 3x 10 yrs. ago ,$200k-500K farm equip't and this isn't a bubble? |
