yeah I would love somebody to ask them that when I am losing 30 dollars ahead feeding 7.5 corn. The answer is complicated. the price of bacon has gone up over the years because it cost double to raise a hog over those years. Also bacon is in a relative shortage as a result of this and exceptional demand for the bacon. Would not make much sense to charge less when they can maximize revenue selling at higher price. They may breakeven on loins on a special and make some back on the bacon. If retailing was so easy how come mom and pop stores went by the way side??? Margins were to tough. Maybe you should start a grocery sotre and tell us how easy it is compared to crop farming
