| I’m interested to know what you are paying for labor rates on equipment repairs and if you think its fair.
The dealership I work at is at $75-$80 per hour. With this we also charge mileage. Whit this dealership you not only get parts and service 24 hours a day if needed, you will in a lot of cases get a loaner machine if your current machine cannot be repaired within 24 hours and another machine is available.
This seems like a lot of money especially when everything is dry, fuel prices are up, and commodity prices are down. What most people don’t realize is that product support doesn’t end with the mechanic. There is also a service manager, parts person, some type of clerk to shuffle paper, and usually a technical specialist. Granted these people support several technicians but they are all part of the repair on some level. I think this is forgotten by some and greatly appreciated by others.
I would also be interested in things your dealer has done to make their service top notch.
