With the lack of good qualified mechanics, the price is going to get higher and the service probably shoddier in the future. I would encourage anyone who is needing repairs done to go visit with the shop forman or service manager. Try and get them to agree to a flat rate. This is the best insurance against the 99 hour engine swap. You can get flat rate repair at almost all vechicle service shops why not at an ag dealer. This lets you know what you will pay up front and if the dealer can bet the time he makes more money and you know what you will be billed for with no surpises.
Having ran a dealership I know what all of you are talking about by getting charged $70+ an hour and have the new guy work on your equipment. The owner of the place I was running basically said tough s**t to the customers, he would put on whoever he saw fit to work on the equipment. You can guess how many customers he won over with that attitiude. I guess that is why I am not there anymore either.
