Osakis, MN | You might have the height control switch setup wrong if it is taking fifteen feet to get the seed to start dropping. I have seedstar hydraulic drives on an older 1720 mounted bar, when it hits the ground the seed starts to,drop instantly. If I stop in the field I don't coast to a stop this closes the variable rate valve down to a slow crawl. When you take off again it is going to have to open back up that takes a few seconds and if you take off to fast there will not be the correct population for a little while. I will admit when I stop for something in the field I will usually pickup the planter and backup a coupl feet before I takeoff again, there will usually be a two foot gap if I don't. I don't miss getting out the book to chage oily drive sprockets one ounce.
