Subject: 1020 feeding problems

new to us 30' 1020 header had feeding trouble in wheat. wheat would start to come around the back of the auger in the last 3 feet before the throat and would bunch up and plug at the top between the auger. adjusted the stripper plate as close to auger as possible and the gathering chain is as far forward as the book says it should be. it wouldn't bunch up if i kept my speed down but should be able to run faster than 2.5 mph. don't want to fight this in beans. any suggestions?
