I would put an expansion joint between the garage floor and apron. Leave the edge of the apron an inch below the garage floor and really watch your slope away from the garage and house. Lot of rebar on chairs. Really compact the base. After it sets cut it on 10 ft squares then use silicone to caulk those to keep water out for freeze/thaw cracking. I did some similar work a couple years ago and it is holding up well so far.
