NE Iowa | I noticed the U of I Farmdoc projections and that is the main reason I used the HPE last year. My agent tried to talk me out of it but I didn't listen. The real problem comes if you take the HPE and forward contract some grain. With HPE if the price goes up your guaranteed buchels goes down but in theory your getting the same $$$ per acre. But if you presold at the lower price it is not the case. Very painful lesson. Good thing farming isn't my only source of income. | |
