ecmn | your coop is right. dont know how many tests from around the country at this point that 10-34-0 consistantly is the worst producing pop up when compared to any high quality 70% ortho or higher liquid product. by quality low salt, correct ph, made from quality ingredients.
replace 12 gallons of 10-34-0 with 5 gallons of 3-18-18 or 9-18-9 heck any quality 100% ortho product. if the good stuff is 2x the cost the final cost will be the same, except you will have a better crop, happier soil.
keep the 2x2 for some 28% with K and sulfur in it.
a # is a # but how it or when its avaliable is another thing, also the quality of the product.
keep buying fertilizer based on price, then start looking at the quality of your soil, nutrition quality of the crop, milk production, beef gains and your input costs over the years. sooner or later quality will be the purchasing goal.
