I believe iseedit and NEILFarmer really said it best. Granted newly rented land and land not well cared for with poor fertility may need to be spoon fed to yield well. Too many farmers try to farm to many acres to do a great job but try and get their desired income from their overall volume instead of capitalizing on what they can handle properly. But that's for another discussion.
