Good pictures. Thank you.  Remember that a 24R20 strip till rig similar to what you picture, which is a much more feasible planter width for most folks than a 12R20, will take twice the tractor to pull it than your 12R20. Add to that the fertilizer cart hp requirements.

There was a 24R20 Mole knife strip till machine demoed at the NDSU/Big Iron strip till demo a couple years ago. It was on about the biggest tractor Case makes and almost stalled when the operator set it in the ground.

Usually a very aggressive corn head on the combine is used to be able to get a fall tillage machine through that will more or less bury the residue.

Using a very aggressive corn head in the fall in order to get a shank type fall strip till machine (that does NOT bury the residue) through heavy stalks leaves a lot of loose small residue pieces still on the surface over the winter. These tend to blow into piles, bare spots and the fenceline (or the neighbor's fenceline) by spring planting time. At the very least, this unanchored residue blows over the strips you were trying to clear to warm up.
