North Central Kansas | KWCH has us at 8-10. WIBW is showing 26". I have trees on every side of my pen except the East. I set up a windbreak on the NE corner of the pen I calve in. I flipped the bottom bales on end and then stacked another bale on top. It should be a good spot. The only thing I worry about is a calf getting stepped on or crushed if they all pile in behind it.
Tomorrow night will be a long night checking them every couple of hours. My shop is heated and I have a calf warmer box that I made that I can put them in to warm them up.
How far is the field from your house. | |
