| above two posts are correct in checking the hydrostat cable. our 1680 did the same thing. also check the coupler that go between the drive shaft and the final drives. if they are worn it will seem to jump when going from forward to reverse. ours were so bad that when i was entering a field down a steep bank one of them sheared all the splines off and the side that broke freewheeled and turned the combine sideways. never understood the grease zerks on the couplers untill this event and was told the grease acts as a cushion to take the hard stress out | |
