I would think a person too squeamish to do one would be too squeamish to do the other.
For me, I couldn't bounce or use a hammer. Shoot or captive bolt, yes - but as mentioned, incnovenient/makes a mess. Haven't been around electrocution or gassing, but neither are practical for this scenario.
Maybe this is why all these mass shooters are shooting and not stabbing or strangling - the latter options have a more "personal" or hands-on feeling. That that's for another day ;)
