You guys realize we raise pigs to kill them and eat them. Just the way it is. At one time everyone seemed to understand the difference between animals and humans, but modern pet owners now try to get their cats enrolled in college. I see it as reverse maturity - maturity recognizes that there are things are just part of life and until the lion can lay down with the lamb (bet lamb won't get much sleep) it's the way it is.

I think you're exactly right. They grow up, watching their cartoons with their talking animated animals, and that anthropomorphosis leads these immature people to see (incorrectly) see animals as people. I think the problem is compounded by kids today having no experience on the farm. Exposure to that environment allows one to learn to recognize that personification for what it is, and to understand animals don't think like people, and don't feel like people.

They're not pets, they're products. It is such a simple concept, and yet so many cannot understand.
