Ed, we use a Woods hyd ditch bank mower to trim around woods. It can reach up about 6-7' when vertical or out about 8' horizontal. I'd really like to have a boom mower but that will have to stay on the "wish list" for now. The ditch bank mower does help keep limbs trimmed back. Every few years I try to go around with the backhoe & break back higher & bigger limbs.
