ne neb | We are part of an entire system. I buy 5 week old weaners off the sow from a group of Amish producers. Usually around 200 at a time so each group goes in its own barn. Lots of rules to follow but you get used to it. We use no antibiotics at all from 20 pounds to finish. Putting 20 lbs pigs in hoops works surprisingly well. Seems to be less stress on the pigs. Low overhead and pretty low labor operation. We don't spend to much time with the pigs. If things aren't going well more bedding fixes most anything. | |
