The Far East...of Nebraska. | I'm young and probably won't be able to buy land for a long time. I see land as the ultimate investment. It's not just a place to park cash like some boring index fund. It provides a job, that is its ultimate dividend. 200 years from now the land you buy might help your great great grand kids make a living doing what they love. If they don't want to farm they can rent it out or whatever and still get a dividend and pursue other employment. One quarter may not provide full time employment, but it's still something. I think land is awesome. If I ever bought any I'd probably be so attached to it I'd have a hard time selling it. How many people look at an office building and think "man I wish I owned that!" Now think about how many pieces of land you've said that about.
Whether to farm or enjoy or build a house on or whatever.
