Subject: RE: Tractor & Trailer Recommendations

Maybe a farmer neighbor is wanting to up grade of what ever. That would be my first choice, you at least have some history. Visit with mechanics in your area that work on them, they have lots of opinions on what to look for. My first truck was bought from a mechanic shop. They took two trucks and made one, has worked well but I had no idea what I was getting into. The second was bought after a trucker saw it for sale on the highway, worked well very few problems but I had no idea what I was getting into. My last truck was purchased from a trucker acquaintence who quit his job to do something else. We had tons of history and has worked well so far no problems. What ever you buy take good care of it and address problems promptly. Be prepared to buy lots of tires and brakes. Our other problems have been minimual. New trailers do not cost a great deal more than used esp after new tires and brakes are considered unless you buy a junk one.
