I couldn't sleep at night if I advised someone to buy a farm truck. I know how they have been used and I'd think you would too. There is something to be said for buying a known machine, but I don't really think it amounts to much. Our trucks could have blown up the day after we bought them but they could as easily blow up tomorrow after we have owned them for 5-10 years. A friend and I bought two pretty well identical trucks from a common home some years back. Ours has had nothing done but oii changes and air conditioner service. His threw a rod the first summer he had it. Neither have half the miles our other trucks have, ours is about 400k and his was about 500k when it died. |
