I don't understand the rationale behind selecting optional unit crop insurance?

Subject: Looks like enterprise is more highly subsidized


SD/ND/FL		Results of a quick google search...at 75% insurance the government subsidizes 55% of optional unit coverage and 77% of enterprise unit coverage.

Not sure exactly how that effects the payouts, my common sense tells me that enterprise would have the long-term advantage
