Old seed corn -can this be burned safely in a corn stove ?

I wouldn't. I know guys that use it to heat their shops which might be ok, but I wouldn't do it in a house. Uncle burnt treated seed for a few years in the house I live in now and there was a black coating on the walls I had to scrub off, I don't know if it was from the treated corn though. And the house he lived in after he moved out of this house he burnt treated seed in and is now occupied by my cousin and has a black coating on the walls, too. I've burnt untreated corn in this house for over 5 years now and no black coating. Plus I work with enough treated seed to know that I really don't want to take a chance on the kids breathing all that in, or me either for that matter. I wouldn't burn it but that's just me and can't give any concrete evidence on why not to.

That's unbelievable that somebody would make it seem ok to feed treated corn!! If people think that's ok then they should hose some off and eat it themselves and see what happens....
