Subject: RE: Trple pane windows

SW Saskatchewan
In Wisconsin you would probably find triple pain windows to be worthwhile, both in in controlling heat loss and making the house more liveable in the reduction of drafts off cool windows. Argon filled windows also are effective in controlling heat transfer as are reflective coatings which I found are as effective as interior blinds at preventing heat gain and glare.

If you go with the interior blinds, the space enclosing the blinds is not sealed, no argon can be added and your windows become susceptible to interior staining as heat difference suck humidity and/or dust between the panes.

Windows are far better now than they were when we built our house in 1980, with the cost of labor I would suggest one go with the best you can afford, there is a difference.

However if you live in Florida, California, Hawaii or anywhere glass is optional, then ignore the above.
